My really dear friend, the great Buddhist teacher Jack Kornfield, and I were in conversation this week about life, these times, and his beautiful new book: All In This Together. Thank you Tami Simon of Sounds True for bringing us together again.
“The wonderful feeling of being startled”…write not from the intellect, but from the heart to “connect on sacred ground.” This listening was food for my battered soul. Thank you my friends.
Ms Lamott, I don't know where I found you or when. I don't remember what I have read of yours. But there is this reverberation in my soul when I read your name. Faith, unfaith, suffering, loss? I don't know what I connected to in the past and I don't need to figure it out, I'm just glad to have connected here on Substack. And I'm going to start (again?) reading your writings.
I loved the concept of finding something you can bow to in each person, even the weird ones. This small thing could change everything. Thanks for this pearl.
Just amazing! Thank you and love you both. ❤️

Two wise voices reminding us that presence is still the medicine.
